I was wrong.

I was very wrong!!

Tonight I saw Transformers and my eyes have been opened.  27 years of Transformer fandom realized in live-action movie form!  Go see it.  You will like it.  Your significant others will like it, as did mine.  Your parents will like it, as will mine when I force them to see it!  I will be proselytizing this movie to random strangers starting tomorrow;  I won't stop until the entire world recognizes how great this film was.  If you were ever going to do Transformers as a live-action film, this would be how to do it.

I love you Michael Bay!  All is forgiven!!!

He was wrong.  He was really wrong.  And so was I.  This movie did not disappoint and I think you, and you, and you, you and you, should go see it.  But maybe not on opening night.

Say it isn't so .. Justice was wrong about something ... has the earth stopped spinning, are the polar ice caps melting, has Donald become a VB MVP? Such an incredible event and I can say I read it here first.

It was alright.  I wanted more Transformers and I wanted to see something with the matrix.  Regardless, Meghan Fox is pretty amazing.

I can't believe that you actually like a woman who isn't either rail-thin or blonde, Victor!!   Truly this must have been a historic movie.

I've heard it looks great and I guess as long as I don't expect a story out of it, it should rock.

I would definitely pay to see this movie again in the theatres!

Saw the opening show at 8pm monday.  Got out, bought tix for the midnight show.  It was that good.  Saw it again Tuesday with my son.  I was not disappointed, and as a 1977 baby you can best believe i grew up with the original transformers, so they had a lot to live up to.

Scott, that is AWESOME!!  Totally hard-core.  Even greater than that news, however, is the news that you and I share the same birth year!  Yet another thing that bonds us!

Ok, I saw the movie and it rocked. Except for a bit of a lull in the middle it was pretty entertaining. Sure there were a few things that deviated from the cartoons but really it was a damn fine movie. Great special effects work in my opinion.

But no, I won't let my 5 year old son watch this for a few more years but I know I'll be buying this on DVD when it comes out.

I went to see this movie because of you pal, but I have to say it didn't do anything for me. I loved transformers as a kid too, but I don't think this movie was very good. It wasn't terribly exciting; the effects weren't very interesting; the comedy bits didn't fit with the gung ho military tone of much of the rest of the movie. Of the many irritating things in this film, the worst was how these puny humans keep outrunning these giant robots when they should be getting squished. Reminds me of the hercules cartoon where the monsters kept running at him without getting any closer until he has finished powering up with his magic ring. If you ask me, live action was a bad idea, but on the other hand I am surprised at how many people seem to love this movie. I really don't get it.
Is it just the nostalgia for transformers? Even the rather lame spiderman 3 was better than this if you ask me.

Umm as far as monstrosity goes, you're the one who has a head shot of Michael Bay on your blog! Smile However, as someone should have pointed out to the robots in the movie, "Can't we just all get along?" Smile By the way, I only watched TF as a kid on TV, so I don't know a lot of background. Why were all the TF's minted by the allspark evil? You'd think a few of them would come out good, no?
Hopefully will see you at Pavel's eamug presentation next week!

You're kidding, right? You saw that ass-hat travesty of a film with Bay's scrapheap sculptures standing in for the Transformers and liked it? Shia LeBouf being Shia leBouf all over the place, the stupid plot (oh, the NSA can't decode this signal in their bad-ass computer lab, I'll take top-secret data to my addled hacker buddy on his 286 and he'll figure it out! And somehow not go to prison for the rest of my life for it. Stupidity!)

and Optimus Prime does NOT have lips!

You, sir, have been bought. No other explanation. This film is tantamount to pissing all over the Transformers franchise, and you're licking it up and asking for more. For shame.
