Lettuce.

Tomato.
Shredded turkey breast.
Honey wheat bread.
Swiss cheese.
*720* calories, with *27* grams of fat.Can *anyone* explain to me
why this sandwich is more than 1/3rd of my recommended daily caloric intake??
The Swiss cheese is 91 calories (7 g of fat).
The bread is about 120 calories for two slices.
Let's say that the turkey is 180 calories (
1 g of protein = 4 calories, and there's 45 g of protein in this sandwich).
So if the swiss cheese, the bread, and the turkey are about a total of 391 calories, what is making up the other 329 calories and 20 g of fat? The lettuce and tomato? I mean, even if we're counting mayo (which I normally ask to leave off), that's got to be the
*fattest* mayo ever!
By all rights, this sandwich should be healthy! Why is it a complete nutritional disaster??
Update: Thanks to both
Kyle Fox and Catherine for pointing out that it's actually the
*bread* that is the problem here. Rather than being 120-180 calories for 2 slices of whole wheat bread, it is actually
*360* calories. Kyle has also been good enough to supply the following image illustrating that the mysterious 'slat' ingredient might also have something to do with this ;) (click to enlarge).
